It’s Fall Y’all: Check Out “Autumn at the Dallas Arboretum”

While the Texas heat can make Fall seem far away, the month of October is the perfect start to a new season. Autumn at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens is the perfect place to experience the start of a new season as they offer a wide array of activities for a day of fun with friends and family. 

For those who would prefer some air conditioning, the historic DeGolyer House hosts a tour every 30 minutes Monday - Saturday 10 am- 4 pm, and Sundays 12-4 pm. Every Monday a member of the Dallas College faculty offers a 30-minute cooking class, and the best part is you can take the leftovers home! 

Outside in the gardens, visitors can join the guided pumpkin hike every Wednesday at 10 am to learn more about the seasonal and unique pumpkins that adorn the Arboretum in the fall. Coming up is the Fall Vendor Market & Craft Fair on October 7 and 8, 10 am-3 pm, with dozens of local vendors accompanied with fall treats and gifts as you walk through the gardens. 

Finally, if you are looking for good food and entertainment head on over to Jeanne’s Pavilion from 12-2 pm on the weekends, with picnic food and music that make for a great afternoon. Members can enjoy the Cool Thursdays Concert Series every week, with food trucks lining the road and cover bands ready to rock the stage.
